Use these instructions to check your Outlook Express settings if you are receiving errors when trying to send or receive email.
- Open OUTLOOK EXPRESS
- Click on TOOLS from the menu bar
- Click on ACCOUNTS from the drop down menu
- Click on the MAIL tab of the Internet Accounts window
- Click once on YOUR ACCOUNT, usually shown as mail.fisi.net
- Click on the PROPERTIES button
- Verify that you have a name in the Name line
- Verify that you have your correct email address in the E-mail Address line
- Click on the SERVERS tab
- Verify that the Incoming mail(POP3): is set to mail.fisi.net
- Verify that the Outgoing mail(SMTP): is set to mail.fisi.net
- Verify your Account name is correct. This is the portion of your email address that is before the @
- Verify your Password by deleting the the stars and carefully retyping your password
- Put a check in the box My server requires authentication, as shown below.
- Click on the OK button
- Click on the Close button
